Frequency number format

Postby g4ilo » Sun 24. Mar 2013, 16:15

Someone commenting on my blog mentioned that Comfort logs frequencies to the ADIF file in European format, using comma as the decimal separator. This causes an error when the file is imported into another log program.

That is a trap I have fallen into myself when my Pascal programs are used by European hams! The solution involves the system value DecimalSeparator. In Britain and USA we use a period character '.' as the decimal point, not a comma as you do in Germany. A comma is used as the thousands separator.

In the kHz dial frequency box, can we have 10139.000 down to the last cycle?
Why, eg. the FT450D does not display the last digit, so it could 0-9, you wouldn't know.
But, OmniRig, DOES know, as implemented by VKCL our Australian Contest logging software.

Also, of note, VKCL finds OmniRig but Comfort 4.0.0.24 does not.
Laptop: HP 4320s Core i3, Win 7 Pro 64bit, Behringer UCA202 USB audio, FTDI serial USB adapter, FT450D
OmniRig v1.14 is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Afreet\OmniRig

Thank you very much for your patience!

I've released build 55, yesterday which should address this issue, and I am begging for excessive testing of this new version, especially by the guys who are using the dot (.) as decimal separator.

Please also drop a line here for feedback purposes!

The issue has propably returned. After many happy users reporting they were using Comfort without any problems, I've now received a new bug report on the decimal separator topic.

Who else still experiences issues?

What's your country? What's your regional settings in Windows?

I'd be really happy to see this happening "live" as I can not confirm this, so if I could have a look at your PC via TeamViewer, I'd be very happy.
